Major Consulting Projects
Dr Papatheodorou has participated in bids regarding research proposals funded by the European Union. At present, he participates as a member of the E.T.E.M.-University of the Aegean group in the following projects:
- "Digital Business Framework for the Promotion of Ecological and Cultural Tourism Services in Cyprus", a Cyprus Research Promotion Foundation project studied on behalf of Business Architects Consultancy (BAC). The deliverables are classified into three major categories, namely the production of the digital material, the production of electronic business (entrepreneurship) guides and the creation of a portal for ecological and cultural tourism in Cyprus. Dr Papatheodorou is the E.T.E.M. team Project Manager.
- ALLWAYS TOURISM, an EQUAL programme consortium sponsored by the European Social Fund.
- "Mediterranean Standard for Sustainable Tourism" (M.E.S.S.T.), an Interreg III - Archimed Programme funded by the European Regional Development Fund. The programme aims at developing a standard for sustainable tourism development in the context of the Mediterranean Region.
- "Determination and Development of Management Models for Small and Medium Hotel and Catering Enterprises. Evaluation of Academic and Vocational Knowledge Background of Employees in Cyprus", a Cyprus Research Promotion Foundation project studied on behalf of the Greek National Centre for Social Research (ΕΚΚΕ).
- "Creation of Digital Applications and Tools for the Development of Sports Tourism in Cyprus", a Cyprus Research Promotion Foundation project studied on behalf of the Greek National Centre for Social Research (ΕΚΚΕ).
- HERMES (Harnessing Employment, Regional Mobility and Entrepreneurship in Southeastern Europe), an EU DG Enlargement project in collaboration with the Institute of Urban Environment and Human Resources at Panteion University, Greece.
- TEMPUS (Trans-European mobility scheme for university studies), an EU DG Education project in collaboration with the Technological Education Institute (TEI) of Thessaloniki, Greece.
Dr Papatheodorou has also participated in the design of the strategic tourism plan of the Corfu Tourism Organisation as a member of the consortium E.T.E.M. – Planet Consulting (strategic ally of Mercer Human Resource Consulting in Greece).
Dr Papatheodorou has also held talks with eminent industry practitioners about projects in Cyprus, the Middle East and Singapore — negotiations are still pending in most cases. He is actively seeking collaborations at a global level in areas of his interest.
